Produced by Tim Burton, Big Eyes now sees Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds in the cast of the indie flick.
Variety reports that the two will star in the biopic of Margaret and Walter Keane. The project will be written and directed by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Tim Burton is set to produce through his Tim Burton Productions shingle.
The film is based on the true story of the Keanes' and the large eyed character painting which they became known for in the 60s. While it all seemed good to outsiders, their lives will filled with controversy as Walter stole the credit for the work that was really done by Margaret.
The writing and directing duo previously worked with Burton on Ed Wood and also have credits for The People Vs. Larry Flynt and Man on the Moon. When talking about the new casting the duo said "Ryan will knock it out of the park. As for Reese, she will be perfect as Margaret -- soulful, decent, transforming from vulnerability to learning to fight for herself."
Reynolds can next be seen in Safe House next to Denzel Washington. Witherspoon stars in the upcoming action-comedy This Means War.
