TNT & Frank Darabont Want WALKING DEAD's Jon Bernthal For L.A. NOIR Pilot

Variety reports that Jon Bernthal (THE WALKING DEAD) is in early conversations with TNT to star in its period drama pilot L.A. NOIR.

Frank Darabont has shepherded the pilot along at TNT, which would make for a WALKING DEAD reunion of sorts if Bernthal signs on.

Should the deal close, Berthal would play Joe Teague, an L.A. cop dealing with corruption in the LAPD, involving "underworld figures," in the 1940s and 50s. Darabont wrote the script for the pilot which TNT greenlighted earlier this year.

Sounds like a great concept for a TV show, though I'd much prefer it was in AMC or FX's hands as opposed to TNT who only claims to "know drama." (Has anyone at TNT ever seen MAD MEN, BREAKING BAD, or JUSTIFIED? Cause THAT'S drama!)

While I have yet to watch THE WALKING DEAD (I've read the graphic novels!), I've posted my own personal favorite Jon Bernthal performance after the jump. It's hilarious, so hit that jump, son!
