The following paragraph might seem to be some sort of set-up for an elaborate joke but trust me, it's real.
Back in the early 90s Penn and Teller (yes, the magicians) conceived of a game called Desert Bus to be included in their Sega CD collection Penn and Teller's Smoke and Mirrors (and which subsequently was never released when the game publisher, Absolute Entertainment, went out of business). The game's objective involved driving a bus from Tucson, AZ to Las Vegas, NV at a top speed of 45mph in real time.
Now, to understand what "real time" means here, the drive IRL takes around 8 hours at that speed and so does the actual game. In order to earn 1 point, you have to continuously play the game for 8 hours without pausing (that option does not exist in Desert Bus) and to reach Vegas without crashing the bus.
You might be telling yourself, "But Elizabeth, certainly you get to run over animals or pick up hitch-hiking hookers right?"
No.
All you do is drive the damn bus with no one on it and no music to help cut the absolute mind-altering solitude.
You just drive.
