Disney is working on a movie that tells the making of Mary Poppins. Now Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson are in negotiations to star in the film Saving Mr. Banks.
According to Variety, the two actors are in final negotiations to star as Walt Disney and P.L Travers, the author of Mary Poppins. The story focuses on the story of how Disney went through 14 years of trying to get the rights to the character to make the film.
The title comes from David Tomlinson's character from the 1964 film which Julie Andrews also starred in. John Lee Hancock will be directing the pic with a script from Kelly Marcel. Even though Disney was successful in making the movie, Travers was unhappy the film and made the promise to never work with the studio again.
