The Bridge sets up some good mystery, yet it is another non-original American TV Series. A direct riff from the seriesBron, televised in Sweden & Denmark.
Swedish/Danish version: When a body is found on the bridge between Denmark and Sweden, right on the border, Danish inspector Martin Rohde and Swedish Saga Norén have share jurisdiction and work together to find the killer.
US/Mexican version: Two detectives, from the USA and Mexico, must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the American-Mexican border.
Not much difference there beyond the nationalities that I can see. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea or terrible series. We’ve seen this before with success like The Office, American Idol, and Veep; and with less than stellar results, see: Coupling, The IT Crowd, and Kath and Kim.
