I have tried a lot of different beers in my day (right now I'm partial to Angry Orchard's Elderflower Hard Cider) so I'm not all that squeamish about sipping on some funky suds.
But I will admit that I paused for a second when I found out that Rogue Ale just put out a Beard Beer that is brewed from a yeast created from their Brewmaster's (John Maier) beard.
Yeah, it sounds gross but apparently Mr. Maier has kept his face locks clean and free-range since 1983 and, after brewing over 15,000 beer batches, the man has got some natural yeast growing all up in there so why not right?
If you're interested in getting yourself a taste you can order a bottle HERE (if you happen to live in a state where you can just order booze off the internet), if not, then maybe you can plan a trip to Ashland, Oregon for a brewery tour, take in a mug or two of beard beer and then mosey on up to Washington to spark up a joint where it's legal. You know, make a vacation out of it.
