Prepare for what may be one of the greatest documentaries of all time. Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story Of Cannon Films is coming out soon thanks to Drafthouse Films.According to The Playlist, documentary helmer Mark Hartley, who is behind such films as Not Quite Hollywood and Machete Maidens Unleased, presents this latest film about the independent production and distribution company from the 70s and 80s.
For those that don't know, Cannon Films was a 60s film company that was sold to two Israeli cousins. It quickly turned into a "high-end exploitation house" and made films like Death Wish, Delta Force, Lifeforce, Cobra, Kickboxer...the list goes on.
The film will follow the slightly strange history of the studio and look at things like a failed Captain America movie and a lawsuit over a proposed Spider-Man project. Of course it will also delve into the films with Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone, and the infamous Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
The release of the show will also be accompanied by a Cannon Films touring retrospective.
