THE TWO MOODS OF SUPERMAN Celebrated Through Song

I'm more than a bird, I'm more than a plane
I'm more than some pretty face beside a train
And it's not easy to be me...whatever dude.
Look, when Five for Fighting released Superman (It's Not Easy) I liked it- for the first nine hundred times- and I get why it is a popular song to slow dance to. I can even appreciate it's subtle geek nod to a very depressed American superhero that seems on the verge of suicide.

But geez, could you lighten up a bit? We're talking about a powerful man who is capable of getting trim on every street corner! There's no reason to write him as a pathetic human who doubts his very existence (that's for us peons to cry about).

Now, with Russian musical artist Alla Pugacheva, Superman seems a bit more upbeat ( I think, I don't know what she's saying but she sounds very enthused when she yells "Superman") and, judging by the cover of her album, Superman seems quite happy to be riding around on a dune buggy (although he seems to have let himself go a bit, but that's not surprising when you become part of a couple):

So perhaps we should hope, when Superman gets involved as a musical muse, that he remains happy so that he can best the forces of evil rather than lay on the couch all day questioning his duty to the world while watching Maury Povich.

After the break is Alla Pugacheva's happy sounding Superman tribute which we should all agree should be his personal theme song rather than the Five for Fighting one.
