HBO has decided to get rid of fan favorite Bored to Death along with Hung and How to Make it in America, but keep Enlightened for a second season.

According to Deadline, the Laura Dern comedy Enlightened will get a second season, probably thanks to two Golden Globe nominations. The network also made the decision to cancel the three comedies Hung, Bored to Death and How to Make it in America.

Of the four comedies that found there futures today, Hung was rated the highest and lead actor Thomas Jane just received his second nomination for a Golden Globe.

Bored To Death has garnered critical acclaim, and had many big name stars, but that apparently wasn't enough to see the show into a fourth season. Hung would have also gone into it's fourth season if it were not cancelled.

At the moment, Enlightened is the only comedy, along with Eastbound & Down, that will be returning now that those three shows are gone, Entourage is finished, and Larry David hasn't decide whether or not to continue Curb Your Enthusiasm.

New comedies joining Enlightened include the Julia Louis-Dreyfus starring Veep, Ricky Gervais' Life's Too Short, Judd Apatow's Girls, and Chris Lilley's Angry Boys.
