Disney has given a release date to Maleficent, the Sleeping Beauty story that stars Elle Fanning as Sleeping Beauty.
Maleficent will hit theaters on March 14th, 2014. Deadline reports that Angelina Jolie will be playing the classic villain from one of Disney's earliest animated films. The story will tell the origin story of the evil fairy and her reasons for cursing the Princess Aurora.
While the story will focus mainly on the character of Maleficent, Aurora will also have a large part in the film and will be played by Fanning. Linda Woolverton wrote the script which Robert Stromberg will be directing.
