You hoped the ridiculous trailer for Battleship killed any more board game based feature films (Ok, I hoped the trailer killed them...), but it appears that a film based on Ouija is still in the plans over at Universal.
THR reports that Universal has pulled the film from turnaround by slashing the budget and attaching the man behind inexpensive horror flick blockbusters Paranormal Activity and Insidious, Jason Blum.
Blum's Blumhouse banner has a first-look deal at Universal, and he's been handed the keys to the Ouija property, which means McG (whose films cost about the same as 100 Insidious-es) is no longer attached to direct.
The plot is top secret but what is known is that it revolves around the board game that "lets players communicate with the spirit world."
The Ouija film had a mega-budget similar to Battleship before this deal, bit now it is expected to come in with a price tag of around $5 million.
