This whole thing started when it was rumored that the actor had asked The Academy if he could walk down the red carpet as his newest character from the upcoming The Dictator. It was then reported that his tickets to the Oscars had been pulled in the fear that he would show up on the red carpet in costume. The Academy responded saying nothing about the issue and then saying that his tickets had not been pulled and he is not banned but if he shows up as The Dictator he will be turned away.
