It looks like The Boys will have to wait a bit longer to make it to the big screen now that Columbia has dropped the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic book has been put into turnaround. The violent and edgy book was being adapted by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay along with Seth Rogen. The screenplay has been in development since 2009.

The story follows an CIA Squad who watch superheroes and when needed, they intimidate or even eliminate them. Those are "the boys." The project had producers Neal H. Moritz from Original Film and Kickstart's Jason Netter attached. The two will now be shopping the project to the many studios.
