Casting News : TV Version

There is a lot of news to get through from the weekend. Here's just what's been cast recently in the world of television.

As you may know, it's pilot season. That means that a bunch of new shows are now in development and stars are jumping on projects that may or may not pan out. So let's take a look at what actors will be seen in soon. Names today range from Alice Cooper to Terry O'Quinn to Sarah Chalke. Take a look at all the news right after the break.




Syfy has put together the cast for their next original film called Bigfoot. The project already has actors like Danny Bonaduce and Barry Williams attached. Today we get the news of additions Howard Hesseman, Sherilyn Fenn, Andre Royo and most notably Alice Cooper. The story is about two rivals on the hunt to capture Bigfoot after he is discovered in South Dakota. One wants to use the creature to exploit it and the other wants to save it. [EW]

In two of ABC's new shows, Andre Braugher and Sarah Chalke have been added as leads for the casts. Braugher will be coming to the drama The Last Resort about a submarine crew that decides to declare itself a sovereign nation. Chalke will be going to How To Live With Your Parents For The Rest Of Your Life. She is set to play a divorced single mom who moves back with her "eccentric parents. [Variety]

JoAnna Garcia Swisher will be coming to an untitled project at CBS from Greg Malins and Greg Berlanti. The multi-camera comedy is centered around a character Nick who has "has a health scare and realizes that Wendy is 'the one'. Now he has to figure out how to tell that to his best friend and business partner of 15 years." [Deadline]

Nick Stoller, writer of The Muppets has a project over at CBS that has just cast Michael Angarano. Angarano will be playing the lead in the comedy based around Stoller's real-life experiences as a twenty-year-old. The single-camera ensemble comedy has the lead character having to work next to his ex-girlfriend just one cubicle away. [Deadline]

Josh Gad, star of Book of Mormon is coming to star in his own show 1600 Penn. Gad will join the cast in the White House family comedy that he's been working on with Modern Family director Jason Winer and Jon Lovett, a former speechwriter for President Obama. [Deadline]

Over at HBO, Bobby Cannavale is joining Boardwalk Empire as a "charming but ruthless gangster who challenges Nucky." The news comes soon after the announcement that the show has been picked up for a third season. [THR]

Terry O'Quinn is coming to Falling Skies. The actor best known for his pivotal role as John Locke on Lost will be guest starring in the last two episodes of the drama's second season as a former history professor and mentor to Tom Mason. [EW]
