MONTY PYTHON Actors Reunite For Sci-Fi Film

It looks like members of Monty Python's Flying Circus will be coming together once again to make the sci-fi comedy Absolutely Anything.

Variety reports that Terry Jones will be directing a script that would have Michael Palin, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Eric Idle voicing the roles of a group of aliens who give a man on Earth the power to to absolutely anything. In addition to the Pythons, Robin Williams is signed on to play a talking dog named Dennis.

The film would be a live action/CGI story and the Pythons would likely only be voicing, though there is no formal news on casting or roles yet. The project is planned to start filming in the U.K this spring.

The script comes from Jones and Gavin Scott who have been working on the script for over two decades. The two will be producing along with Medavoy, a producer who previously worked on The life of Brian.

"It's not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility," Jones told Variety. He was only able to confirm that Gillaim, Cleese, and Palin have agreed to a role. He did not that producers are trying to sign Eric Idle.

"Terry and Gavin have crafted a classic farce -- something I feel I know a little bit about after all the Pink Panther pictures we did with Blake Edwards at United Artists," Medavoy said. "In fact, the movie even has a pompous Frenchman reminiscent of Inspector Clouseau -- but there the similarity ends. Like all projects originated by any of the Monty Python guys, Absolutely Anything delightfully defies a logline."
