Charlotte confronts Cesar about the Horse Hanging and he recommends she reopen the tunnel. She logically asks “How did anyone not see anything?!” and then suggests that she needs to upgrade the entire security system. He persists with his recommendation while she has a look of defiance on her face. He suggests that if she doesn’t reopen the tunnel, the next hanging probably won’t be a horse.
It’s clear she has no real options here. As a little follow up she confronts her step daughter Kate who is reprimanded for smoking on the patio, but Kate pulls out the wallet of one Det. Ruiz that was found in the guest bedroom. A little wink-wink nod-nod that she knows what Charlotte was doing in the wee hours of the morning. Kate also states she is sticking around for the reading of her father’s will. I’m wondering if that is going to go anywhere interesting for our Ms. Charlotte.
Later on Charlotte shows up at the precinct to return Det. Ruiz’s wallet asking Kitty Conchas (Diana Maria Riva) if she can speak to Ruiz and return his wallet. She stone walls her as he is tied up with the case, but while this alone doesn’t point to any illicit happenings, Kitty clearly suspects something.
Meanwhile on the case front…Det Cross is convinced the money means nothing and they need to figure out where she is on their own. The Feds (COUSIN JOHNNY!!!! Sorry, I’m a huge Justified fan, so seeing David Meinier here makes me squee a bit, I digress)….the Feds are showing that they are incompetent. Our killer calls Frye again, who was retrieved quite comically by Detectives Cross and Ruiz, and asks if the Feds and Police are with Frye.
