If you're anything like me, you're already starting to plan your Halloween costume and party, and what better way of frightening your guests than by creating a dip created by Boris Karloff (I don't know you, but I'm guessing that since you a reading this post you would be pretty psyched to dip into an avocado-based sauce all loaded up with booze).
Yeah, the man who made Frankenstein a classic movie monster also gave the world dip. I guess you could say he was a Renaissance Man.
Here's the recipe:
2 avocados
1 med. tomato, chopped fine
1 small onion, minced
1 tbsp. chopped canned green chiles
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp sherry
Dash cayenne, optional
Salt, pepper
Peel and mash avocados.
Add onion, tomato and chiles, then stir in lemon juice, sherry and seasonings to taste, blending well.
Serve as a dip for tortilla pieces or corn chips or as a canape spread.
Makes 10 to 12 appetizer servings.
Make, eat and then feel free to rampage your way through a village.
