Four Big Names Join GLEE Creator RYAN MURPHY'S Next Film

Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin, Jim Parsons, and Matt Bomer are all joining the cast of Ryan Murphy's latest feature project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the four will be coming to the adaptation of the Tony Award-winning drama The Normal Heart. The project is being produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B shingle.


The actors will be joining Mark Ruffalo in the autobiographical drama that "details the rise of HIV/AIDS in New York's gay community in the 1980s. The project was written by Larry Kramer and Murphy will be directing.

Ruffallo is set to play Ned Weeks who was one of the first to really notice the disease and its spread. Baldwin will play his brother, a lawyer that has a tough time accepting Ned's sexuality. Bomer is set to play Felix Turner a fashion journalist who becomes Weeks' boyfriend.

Parson's acted in the Broadway version and will reprise his role as a Southern gay activist and part of a gay men's health crisis group. Roberts will play Emma Brookner, a doctor that is one of the few doctors that is actually taking the disease seriously.

Murphy option the rights to the play last August. On Broadway the title has won awards for best supporting actor and actress, going to John Benjamin Hickey and Ellen Barkin. It also had noms for best actor and best directing.
