With Juliet (Maggie Lawson) unfortunately tied up in impromptu police work, Shawn takes Gus (Dule Hill) as his plus one to the dinner, even though he has no idea who invited him to the party.
It turns out the invitation is from Billy Lips (Steve Valentine) a former rock star that Shawn had inadvertently help incarcerate when just starting work with the SBPD in 2007. Billy found many religions during his 5 years in prison, so when he was released, he decided to in the spirit of forgiveness to invite all those closest to him at the time of his incarceration, to his new home to celebrate his newfound freedom and happiness.
At the dinner party was Leslie Ann (Lesley Ann Warren) a former hard core groupie of the band, Highway Harry (Martin Mull) the band’s former manager, Martin Kahn (Christopher Lloyd) the pompous author from Harvard who penned Billy’s autobiography, Clivesby (Garrett Morris) Billy’s faithful long-time butler and Curt Smith (Curt Smith) a musician who Billy was collaborating with at the moment.
