I found myself emotional and heart-wrenched during this finale. It’s difficult to watch characters fall apart but within that exposition there are very relatable actions and reactions. It really resonates.
The show has gone full circle. The characters are relatively in the same place they were at start of the series, although a bit damaged and so wiser.
Hannah (Lena Dunham) is safely in Adam (Adam Driver)’s arms, emotionally honest this time. The power dynamic between Marnie (Allison Williams) and Charlie (Christopher Abbott) has completely shifted but they are genuinely in love again. Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is single and empowered, no longer crippled by her self-conscious virgin status. And Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is off being independent and detached.
