So here's some speculative bullshit that I feel like sharing. I think South Korea is getting ready to out Pop Culture Japan, England and the US in the next couple of years.
Think about it, they managed to sneak in PSY's Gangnam Style through the backdoor completely integrating it into everyone's subconscious until the entire planet is doing some kind of embarrassing horsey dance at whatever family get-together is being videotaped. And now the South Korean Air Force's OFFICIAL BLOG TEAM has created a parody of Les Miz called Les Militaribles which is supposedly about the ..."celebration of sorts of airmen’s shared sacrifice during two years of service"[NYT] but really seems to be a hilarious musical bitch-slap to the soul-crushing job of shoveling snow (and I have a feeling that most of the Northeast can relate to that particular feeling).
The video, which has only been out for six days, already has over 3 million views (probably because Les Miz star Russell Crowe tweeted the video link) and is required viewing for anyone who wants to stay on top of emerging video trends from South Korea (and you know you want to).
I'm telling you, this country is gonna get it's own Con soon.
