Cosmic Book News is reporting that they've been sent a tip regarding the new Superman movie Man of Steel.
The site says they've been told that after Paradise Lost fell trough because Legendary Pictures thought the budget was too high, Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, The A-Team, Limitless) will now appear in Man of Steel as Lex Luthor in a cameo role.
Of course Cosmic News has no way of confirming the tip, so take this news with a grain of salt.
Back in the spring of 2011 it was rumored that Luthor was a big part of the script, but since then and most obviously from different set pics of the production there have been no signs of Luthor. Director Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Sucker Punch) has also gone on the record stating that he wants his film to take a different direction than the previous films.
In the original Richard Donner Superman films, Gene Hackmen portrayed Luthor and in 2006's reboot/sequel Superman Returns, director Bryan Singer cast Kevin Spacey in the role of Superman's archenemy.
Cooper was last seen on the big screen in the surprise hit Limitless.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Johnathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
Man of Steel will open in theaters on June 14, 2013.
