Clark has to tangle with the Persuader, but he won’t have to do it alone.

Is the Justice League back in town?

No, it’s a little trio from the future—Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, and Lightning Lad from the infamous Legion of Super-Heroes!

The 31st century is now, so long live the Legion!

The Random:
1. Not for nothing, Legionnaires, but you gotta know dumping all this “you’re going to be awesome sauce” stuff on Clark is going to be hard for him to swallow.

2. Even the Legion is surprised that Clark can’t fly yet given that they can, Kara can, Martian Manhunter could, and everyone else and their mother has been able to at one point or another.  At least they got a dig in at the show’s proposed edict of “no tights, no flights.”

3. Really, Chloe’s seen some better days and this whole possessed by Brainiac meets Carrie during the prom look she’s got going on is less than flattering.

“Wait, what do you mean we’re talking crazy?  We’re three people
with magic rings claiming to be from a future where you’ve inspired
entire galaxies.  What’s so hard to grasp about that?”

The Awesome:
1. The Persuader sure knows how to make an entrance, teleporting into the barn and using his axe to smash stuff up and slice through Clark, but not to be undone, the Legion arrive fresh from the 31st century and kick his ass.  That’s some good stuff.  And the way they use their powers?  Even better.

2. The Brainiac/Doomsday connection comes to full light as Brainiac takes Chloe completely over and Davis tries to fight against what he really is as the mythos of the show takes a huge building sized leap.  Brainiac’s whole master plan is truly something right out of comic book lore, trying to drain every bit of knowledge from the planet and then destroy it.

3. Seeing the Legion work with Clark to excise Brainiac from Chloe’s body is the type of team up we need to see more of, especially as Clark had to wrestle with choosing between saving his best friend and risking Brainiac ruling the world.  And at least Chloe’s got her memories of Clark back.  She’s much more interesting when she knows stuff.  And seeing Clark autograph a baseball with his heat vision is icing on the episode.  Well, that and the reference to Brainiac Five and leaving Clark a Legion ring.  Excellent.

“Go, Planet!!  I mean, long live the Legion!”

The WTF?!:
1. Clark arrives back at the farm and finds Lana there and claims he’s tried everything to find Chloe, including three different time zones.  He also tells her he thinks he knows what the thing that attacked was.  But did he check the Fortress?  No, of course not!  What the hell, CK?!  Why was that not your first damn stop?!

2. Saturn Girl confronts Lana to try and get her aboard the Kill Chloe to Stop Brainiac Crazy Train and tries to butter her up by telling her that the history books possess vast information on how important she is to the future.  Holy crap, it really doesn't get better in the future, does it?

3. The Legion has been inspired by Clark, so how can they not know about his number one rule, that he never intentionally kills anyone?  You’d think that would be a huge friggin’ part of his history.

“Wait, no killing?  Really?  Since WHEN?  Since always?
Huh.  Who knew?  Our bad, Kal.”
