Sci-fi tends to either be completely amazing or super cheesy, and lets just say I was prepared to err on the side of Velveeta over this short flick called Kernel Panic, but alas, I dug it...seriously.
The premise is this:
Death or download!
Brianna Weald. An unadventurous adventurer, all round loner and a captain without a ship.... Lost in space, captured in a gravity well and trapped inside a malfunctioning space suit, our consummate profanitist finds herself burying old grievances, shedding her suspicions and ejecting her reservations in order to save her life.
For on a hard drive, far far away, within the depths of the Heart Corporation's planet sized data-centres, lurks the newly improved saviour-ware that is VERSION 10.
It's time for an upgrade...
Its full of vulgarity (which is a nice added bonus) and the visual effects are pretty good as well, which means that you don't feel like you're watching a SYFY movie filled with gravy blood and former 80s pop stars.
So watch and enjoy.
