After being very successful with X-Men: First Class, director Matthew Vaughn is looking for his next project, after the sequel, and it looks like it's going to be Lexicon.

According to Deadline, the director optioned the rights to the novel using his own money. The thriller by Max Barry will be published next year, but Vaughn is getting the jump on the property by claiming the rights. He will be writing the script for the adaptation with the intent to direct the project himself.

The title is fitting for the story which revolves around a group of people in a world where "words are potentially lethal weapons." As part of the world which is led by a secret and ancient organization, it's forbidden to fall in love. So can you guess what our hero, the "most gifted and troubled member" does? You got it, she falls in love.

Vaughn will soon start production of his follow-up to X-Men: First Class. He's also attached to produce a sequel to Kick-Ass. Barry has other novels like Jennifer Government and Company and Machine, just to name a couple.
