Todd Phillips will be directing Mule and Warner Bros have brought on Mark & Jay Duplass to write the adaptation of the Tony D'Souza novel.
According to Deadline, the brothers will be writing the story of a couple that mind their way into the world of drug muling as a means of living during the recession. Phillips will be developing with the intent to direct.
The Duplass brothers recently worked on Jeff, Who Lives at Homes. Phillips is working on a third entry in the Hangover franchise, along with a sequel for Project X. The project was brought to producers Electric City by Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell who will be producing the project with Phillips and Scott Budnick for Green Hat Productions.
