HBO and BBC have come together to create a new drama centered around the life of a female spy. And it's called Nemesis.

Variety reports that the new show will be coming to the BBC in the UK and to HBO's Cinemax Channel in the states. The show is written by Frank Spotnitz, who is best known for his work on The X-files. Filming for the new series has already started in Scotland, London, and Morocco.

The series revolves around the character Sam, played by Melissa George, who is elite spy for a "private intelligence firm."

After surviving an assassination attempt possibly set up by her own team she comes back to the firm and tries to resume her regular duties. She doesn't know whom to trust except for her one love interest Aidan, played by Adam Rayner.

Spotnitz has said about the show that, "It's got action on a cinematic scale, huge story twists and turns, and intriguing characters who are both emotionally and morally complex."

Joining George and Rayner to fill out the cast are Stephen Dillane, Morven Christie, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Lex Shrapnel, Uriel Emil, Patrick Malahide, Stephen Campbell Moore and Oscar Kennedy.
