Released on April 6, 2016
ISBN-10: 1401229786 / ISBN-13: 978-1401229788
Price: $22.99

DC Comics gave us a sneak peak into Grant Morrison's Wonder Woman: Earth One Vol. 1 hardcover coming out in April of next year. It may be a few months before you can lasso this hefty treat into your hands, so we thought we would give you a sneak peak.

The Earth-One series, for comic fans, delivers what the title implies. This self-contained universe allows creators to take on DC heroes under an umbrella imprint that is easy for mainstream audiences to pick up at the local chain bookstore. I've been enjoying these Earth One with stories from writers Geoff Johns, J. Michael Straczynski, Jeff Lemire and art by heavy hitters Shane Davis, Gary Frank and Terry Dodson.

Wonder Woman: Earth One Vol. 1 showcases one of our favorite Grant Morrison Batman, Inc. artists, the versatile and award winning Yanick Paquette. With Morrison's plan for icons and superheroes laid out in his book Supergods: Our World in the Age of the Superhero (2011), the Scottish writer's twirling take on his remaining hero of the DC Trinity, Wonder Woman, is highly anticipated.

DISASTER! on Broadway (review)

Review by Todd Sokolove
Written by Seth Rudetsky & Jack Plotnick
Concept Created by Seth Rudetsky & Drew Geraci
Directed by Jack Plotnick
Starring Robert Bart, Kerry Butler, Kevin Chamberlin,
Adam Pascal, Faith Prince, Rachel York,
Seth Rudetsky, Jennifer Simard

The curtain rises on a maintenance-man hanging on for dear life as the platform below him begins to buckle.

Then the worst imaginable happens.

His can of Tab cola falls into the dark abyss below him as the beginning notes of Donna Summer's HOT STUFF begins to thump.

If you're not aware what you're in for before entering the Nederlander Theatre, you're about to find out faster than you can demand to "turn the beat around."

DISASTER! comes from its successful word-of-mouth hit off-Broadway run, a little too small in execution for the grand Nederlander stage, but none of that really matters.

This is a critic-proof farce tailor-made for us survivors of the 1970s at its kitschiest.

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS TEEN TITANS (review)

Review by Clay N Ferno
We've got hero against hero again this week over in the DC Animated Universe with Justice League vs. Teen Titans. In the tradition of over branding the Justice League on the main title, this could have easily been called Robin v Teen Titans or simply Teen Titans

Sidebar: has anyone else wondered why Snyder used 'v' instead of the more traditional 'vs' for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

Recently we've had The Flash appear on Supergirl as a spiritual palate cleanser to BvS,  with Barry and Kara sparkling on screen, literally eating vanilla ice cream cones with huge smiles on their faces.

Justice League vs. Teen Titans
exists in an Earth vibrating over these two major properties, movies vs. television in the current (post-Flashpoint Paradox) animated universe.

This Titans movie rests comfortably between the PG-13 destruction and gloom of Batman v. Superman while attempting to appeal to a teenage audience with relatable teenage characters that appeal to the CW and CBS demographic.

BIG V BIGGER IN CINEMA HISTORY

$

With Batman V Superman in theaters (if not in our hearts), I thought it would be interesting to examine the history of films with some variant of "versus" in their titles: films promising an action-packed showdown between mega-powerful antagonists.

The first marquee matchup is usually considered to be the climax of Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), but in the 40s they always used "meet" in the titles.

It was a friendlier time.

Not until the Cold War 50s did film titles imply that the battle was the whole point.

Here is a fairly complete list of films with "versus" or "vs." or "v" in their titles through the early 1970s when they fell out of fashion or morphed into non-genre pictures like Kramer vs. Kramer.

When I started this article I expected to find about half a dozen films, but I found more than twice that, much more if you count all the Godzilla and Gamera films.

Several of these films are duds, but most of them try deliver on the promise of their titles. I'll comment briefly on each and then rate each from 1-10 on a Bash-o-Meter based on how well they fulfill their promises.

COOL SHIRTS: A Look At T-Shirt Offerings From SUPERHEROSTUFF!

By Stefan Blitz

There's no doubt that the boldest and most personal fashion statement, anyone can make is in one's selection of t-shirt.  Personally, I love them. It's an opportunity to show the world what pop culture I care about, a wonderful flashback to the past and a fantastic way to initiate any nerd discussion.

For this installment of Cool Shirts, I took a look at some of the shirts fromour friends at SuperHeroStuff.com which is not only one of the industry's oldest superhero specialty shops, but also one of the best.

SuperHeroStuff sells more than shirts.  Among their wares are hats, hoodies, underwear, socks, action figures, stickers, buttons, belts wallets, cardboard standups, jewelry and much more including large selections for women and children.

And if you're interested in staying up to date, they have plenty of Batman v Superman, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Captain America: Civil War merchandise to satisfy any and all geek cravings.

As for me, I'm prepping for the latest onslaught of superhero movies.  These are a few of my recent favorites.

Daredevil #181 Cover T-Shirt

Like many of you, I binged the second season of Daredevil totally enjoyed the addition of Elektra.

This shirt features one of her best appearances ever in the comics, concluding the epic storyline that features her, the ninja army The Hand and Bullseye. And that issue concluded with Bullseye facing off against Elektra, and stabbing her with her own sai, lifting her in the air as she died.

SPOILER: Even though Bullseye has yet to make his first appearance on Netflix, the second season prominently featured The Hand, and the death of Elektra, once again, killed by her own sai.  Don't worry, in the comics Elektra is ressurrected and if the final shots of this season of Daredevil are any indication, she'll be back in season 3.

Batman Vs Superman Signal Silhouette T-Shirt

Do you bleed?

Do you like 100% cotton officially licensed movie merchandise?

Choose one and you're batting .500.

Batman v Superman was far darker a film than I cared for, but this image of a very perturbed Man of Steel hovering in front of the Bat Signal looking for trouble might be the film's most iconic image.

So sit back and relive the epic fight between the Son of Krypton vs. the Bat of Gotham.

Just not in IMAX.

Luke Cage Hero for Hire 30 Single T-Shirt

This isn't the Luke Cage that you saw for the first time on the Netflix series, Marvel's Jessica Jones, but the blaxspoitation crimefighter introduced in 1972.

Wearing his trademarked yellow shirt and boots, dark blue tight pants, chain belt and metal headband, Luke Cage was framed and went to prison where he volunteered for an experiment granting him super strength and unbreakable skin.  Escaping prison, Cage returns to New York where he starts charging for his services as a "Hero For Hire."

Since then, Cage has become a major character in the Marvel Universe, frequently teaming with Iron Fist and marrying and starting a family with Jessica Jones. "Sweet Christmas!"

Spider-Man Spotlight Crawler T-Shirt

Soon to make his latest rebooted cinematic appearance in Captain America: Civil War, The Amazing Spider-Man has never looked better than he does on this shirt featuring art (I think) by "Jazzy" Johnny Romita!

Illuminated against a brick wall, your friendly neighborhood web head is crawling toward you, ready to save you from one of his most notorious rogues, or simply posing for a photo with his camera timer to sell to The Daily Bugle.

He's amazing!  He's sensational!  He's May Parker's favorite nephew! And you don't need Spider-Sense to know that this shirt is a must have!  'Nuff said!

For more details and to check out their entire selection, visit SuperHeroStuff.com!

While gambling may be considered to be some as a professional endeavour that has the potential to generate huge amounts of income, for others it is a fun and interactive pastime that offers a genuinely immersive experience.

While there are those who enjoy both of these unique benefits of casino gameplay, however, there is usually one motivation that overrides the other and dictates an overriding outlook and strategy.

Despite this, there are some factors that continue to bind gamblers and bettors.

Take superstition, for example, with many known to have adopted lucky numbers or rituals as part of their favourite hobby.

Many of these are borrowed from ancient superstitions that have survived the tests of time and change, including the following:

DECAY (review)

Starring Rob Zabrecky, Lisa Howard,

Jonathan lives a very lonely life.

Living alone in his late mother’s home, his only human contacts are a sex-obsessed, annoying yet (somewhat touchingly) chummy co-worker and a gossipy neighbor who promised Jonathan’s mom she’d take care of him.

He’s seriously OCD, what with his insistence on opening and closing doors twice every time he uses them, and a creature of habit in the extreme, to the point where he almost seems programmed.

He is on (undisclosed) medication for some (undisclosed) malady.

Into this monotonous existence enters a most-welcome “girlfriend” in the form of…a teenage girl’s corpse.

We – and Jonathan – are introduced to the girl in a strong opening scene, a robbery-gone-wrong (which makes amusing use of the classic Rupert Holmes song, “Escape”, aka “The Pina Colada Song”) that results in the accidental death of said teenager.

Being the intensely lonely, damaged soul that he is, Jonathan lies to cops investigating the girl’s disappearance and does his best to preserve the girl’s body, in order to achieve a perverse form of domestic bliss with her.

Despite his best efforts, of course, the body begins to decay, and so does Jonathan’s psyche.
