KICKSTART THIS! ROBOT 13!

In 1939, something was pulled up from the ocean depths off the coast of Spain; what it was and where it originated from were a mystery to the fishermen who found it, but all the surviving members of that crew agree on one thing~ whatever it was, it saved their lives. Robot 13 tells the odyssey of the hero who awoke from the ocean floor that day as it looks for answers to who he really is...

That's the premise of Robot 13, a fantastic book by Thomas Hall and Daniel Bradford that is currently soliciting funds on Kickerstarter to republish their first series into a trade paperback prior to launching the next miniseries.

Among the incentives being offered to donors at various levels include original artwork from the comics, custom-made sketches, a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt, mini-figures of R-13 and the company’s other hit character, KING! and several more goodies. The top level prize is the chance for a donor to have their likeness drawn into a future issue… being eaten by a giant monster!

Hall and Bradford are also offering a special incentive for those who donate $13: a copy of the R-13 paperback collection, shipping included.

THE FIVE STAGES OF BEING STUCK IN THE FRIEND-ZONE

While I have only been in the friend-zone a couple of times (I learned that putting out helps push through the difficulties of making it to the next level) I will admit that upon watching this short film, I felt connected to the loneliness in us all and then a deep depression settled into my being.

To counteract against this crippling malaise I went and molested my husband while he napped to make me feel good about myself again.

It only kinda helped...(sigh)

Primeval Volume 3
From creators Tim Haines (Walking with Dinosaurs) and Adrian Hodges (My Week With Marilyn), Primeval: Volume Three returns us to the adventures of the Anomaly Research Center (ARC) and its team of specialists appointed by the government to deal with the rips in time that are opening across the UK and possibly the world. These rips, called anomalies, are releasing dangerous creatures from the past and the future into the present, endangering lives and putting the whole of humanity at risk.

Picking up nearly a year after the events of Volume Two, Abby and Connor finally escape from the Cretaceous period, only to be followed by a giant Spinosaurus, the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs. The new ARC team springs into action, and Abby and Connor, who fell in love during their time in the past, discover that their place within the team is in jeopardy while their former leader Danny is still missing. Will Danny ever return? What is Matt hiding from the team? While the numbers of anomalies increase and secrets threaten to destroy the ARC from within, the team must fight the odds and prevent the destruction of the human race.

The New Comedy Central, FX Renews ARCHER For A 4th Season

Deadline reports that FX has renewed its animated comedy Archer for a fourth season comprising of 13 more episodes.

FX Productions also signed an overall production deal with Archer executive producers Adam Reed and Matt Thompson and their company Floyd County Productions. Their overall deal is two years with an option for an additional two years keeping the pair at FX for future seasons of Archer and any new shows they develop.

Between Archer, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, The LeagueWilfred, and Louie, FX has finally become a comedy giant with more hilarious content than any other network (sorry Comedy Central, HBO, and NBC...).
Archer is currently airing its third season on FX, a season I would argue is thus far the show's best.


Playhouse Presents Projects with EMMA THOMPSON, DAVID TENNANT, And STEVEN FRY

Sky Arts announces Playhouse Presents and a whole slew of new dramas and comedies.

Sky Arts, the UK network has just commissioned a a "series of on-off original TV dramas and comedies" that will become the new Playhouse Presents label. Sky announced earlier in the year that they would triple the budget for the upcoming series. The big name projects include Walking The Dogs, the story of an intruder that broke into Buckingham Palace in 1982, entered the Queen's bedroom and had a chat with her. Emma Thompson will be playing the Queen. Eddie Marsan and Russell Tovey will also co-star in the comedy drama.

Playhouse Presents will have Hat Trick Productions, Sprout Pictures, Tiger Aspect, and Warp Films producing the series and is set to start in April. Other projects in the series have British actors like David Tennant, Olivia Williams, Stephen Fry and Hayley Atwell attached to star.

• KING OF THE TEDS Drama by Jim Cartwright. Tina works part time as a cleaner. Ron’s been made redundant by the bottle factory. • NIXON’S THE ONE Comedy-drama starring Harry Shearer (This is Spinal Tap, The Simpsons) as Nixon. This brilliant film is a fascinating account of his controversial and often farcical time in office. Also stars Henry Goodman as Henry Kissinger.

• THE MINOR CHARACTER Drama written by Will Self and starring David Tennant as Will, the artist, who observes life in minute detail, providing a witty and acerbic critique of his life. When a tragedy occurs, Will is forced to reconsider the trust he has in the urban-suburban, middle-class landscape of his middle-aged friends.

• CITY HALL Riding a wave of popular opinion after footage of her defiant stance against London rioters becomes an internet hit, an ordinary woman finds herself as the capital’s first female Mayor. With Olivia Williams, Rhashan Stone, Lucy Punch and Martin Shaw.

• CARE Stars Gina McKee as Natalie, a nurse whose relationship with an elderly patient and other residents on the notorious Byker Estate forces her to confront her own fears and isolation.

• NELLIE AND MELBA Melba teaches ballroom dancing and likes to play whist. Her 51 year-old son still lives at home working at the dreaded social security office. His dream is to go onto the stage which, despite a catalogue of disasters, he triumphantly does – with a little help from his mother. Co-written by Paul O’Grady and Sandi Toksvig. Starring Paul O’Grady, Sheila Hancock, Rosie Cavaliero and Jonathan D. Ellis

• THE SNIPIST Drama by Matthew Holness and starring Douglas Henshall and the voice of John Hurt. Set in a post-apocalyptic Britain, a lone sniper (Henshall) must fend off plague carriers and rescue stranded communities in order to survive. But is this landscape of a destroyed civilisation all that it seems?

• WALKING THE DOGS An intruder breaks into the Queen’s bedroom at dawn. They discuss love, family and personal freedom before the police arrive to take him away. With Emma Thompson, Eddie Marsan and Russell Tovey.

• THE MAN Hidden in an exclusive hotel, a cabal of powerful individuals debates international politics, economics and war. A chilling look at how an unelected few control the fate of the masses. Written by Sandi Toksvig. With Stephen Fry, Hayley Atwell, Zoe Wanamaker and Stellan Skarsgård.

• THE OTHER WOMAN Life imitates art as a successful TV writer and his actress wife’s failing marriage is mirrored in the show he writes and she stars in. But can they work out their problems on screen or is their relationship doomed to fail? With Geraldine James, Richard E Grant, Trevor Eve and Tom Ellis.

• PSYCHOBITCHES Psychobitches takes famous females from history and puts them in the psychiatrist’s chair. Our therapist is tasked with trying to help these celebrated women through various issues they may have from Lady Godiva with her obsessive compulsive stripping disorder to Beatrix Potter who believes the animals really do talk to her to Eva Braun who has trouble finding Mr Right. Psychobitches is about celebrating outstanding women from history and all their gloriously bonkers issues.

Landmark 100th issue in stores February 29

Top Cow Productions and Image Comics proudly announced that Darkness 100, the landmark anniversary issue, will land in stores February 29th, 2012.

The over-sized 100th issue follows hot on the heels of the release of The Darkness II video game from 2K Games and Digital Extremes. Justice League: Doom finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s “contingency plans” for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The story is inspired by Mark Waid’s much-heralded “JLA: Tower of Babel.” This is the final DC Universe film script written by the late Dwayne McDuffie.

        Director Brad Bird to participate in Iron Giant Q&A

        Tickets for the highly anticipated 3rd annual Los Angeles Animation Festival (LAAF) are currently on sale and may be purchased online at http://blog.laafest.com/tickets/.  The Festival will run from Wednesday, March 7th through Sunday, March 11th at the historic Regent Showcase in Hollywood.  Festival passes and tickets to all individual events can also be purchased in person at the Regent Showcase beginning on March 7th.

        Three years later, a devastated Madge escapes war-torn London with her two children for a dilapidated house in Dorset. She is crippled with grief at the news her husband has been lost overseas, but determined to give Lily and Cyril the best Christmas ever.

Animation series Young Justice will air beginning Saturday, March 3, at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network as part of DC Nation, the network's brand-new one-hour block of exclusive kids' television programming and shorts based on DC Comics characters. In Young Justice, teenage heroes Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis are tasked by the Justice League to act as their covert operations team. Armed with superior skills, weaponry and powers, the team must do battle against a wide array of villains from the DC Universe while trying to prove to themselves, and to their superhero mentors, that they too have what it takes to be a hero.         In Young Justice: Legacy fans can look forward to an original storyline set in between Seasons 1 and 2 of the television series, written in collaboration with show writers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti. The game is packed with fan favorite playable characters, cameo appearances by popular Justice League heroes and villains, and includes online multiplayer as well as local multiplayer modes.
