The folks over at Latino Review have been proven right yet again.

Deadline is confirming their previous report that Lucasfilm and Disney were planning on rebooting the Indiana Jones franchise with a new actor. They are reporting the studio is in early talks with rising star Chris Pratt to replace Harrison Ford as the titular hero.

While this might be great news for Pratt fans he's a busy bee these days, as he's about to shoot a remake of The Magnificent Seven alongside Denzel Washington.

He also is expected to shoot a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy in early 2016 and possibly a sequel to Jurassic World something soon if it does well this summer.

GHOSTBUSTERS Cast Revealed; Includes Kristen Wiig And Melissa McCarthy

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed Sony's cast for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot.

The all female cast includes Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy who were hopefuls since the announcement of the project. The pair previously worked on Feige's wildly successful Bridesmaids.

Oddly enough, the other two cast members are lesser known actresses best known from their work on Saturday Night Live, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon

It's great to finally see some diversity in the end.  Originally, we had heard like ten names in the mix for roles including Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence, none of the actresses in the mix were of color which was shocking to say the least.

Production on the film is expected to begin this summer in New York.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: THRONE OF ATLANTIS (review)

Review by Steven Scott
In Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, Cyborg discovers an imminent threat in the depths of the oceans so powerful that it rallies together the newly formed Justice League. Meanwhile, wandering thousands of feet above the ocean floor is drifter Arthur Curry, a man with strange powers who may be the last chance to bridge the ancient Atlantean world with our own. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League must band together as they face off against warmongering Orm, an army of sea creatures, otherworldly weapons and perilous odds. In this all-new epic adventure from the DC Universe, mankind’s only hope of escaping from the darkness lies with the guiding light of a man – Aquaman!

Last Word:  Another year, another Justice League animated movie.

As the title suggests, this one puts DC's most famous Atlantean at the forefront. I admit, I gave the last couple JL movies a pass as I had already read the comics and I kind of already knew what I'd be getting going into them, so I surmised they would be a waste of my time.

This one peaked my interest with Aquaman receiving a spotlight usually reserved for his more popular teammates so I decided to dive back in and see if I had been missing out.

Review by Dean Galanis
Produced by Alain Bransford, Kyran Danaher,
Jason Egan, Tony Keily, Patrick Stapleton,
William Treadwell, Brandon Evans, Brett Forbes,
Colleen Hard, Gregory Morse, Patrick Rizzotti
Written by Dr. God, Ryan Mitts
Directed by Brian James O’Connell
Starring Franz Kranz, Pedro Pascal, Joey Kern,
Yvette Yates, Joel Murray, Emma Fitzpatrick

Self-described Shaun of the Dead meets The Office,Bloodsucking Bastards is a failed horror comedy that isn’t anywhere near the same league as the above. Joss Whedon vet Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods, Much Ado About Nothing) brings his usual professionalism and panache to a project that really doesn’t deserve it; anyway, he plays an office drone who is demoted at work, eroding his already tenuous enthusiasm for his workplace.

When his coworkers start turning into vampires, well, ya know, wackiness and strained satire follow.

Kranz emerges nearly unscathed, and really tries to sell his character and the laughs, but to little avail.

His fellow actors don’t come off as well, but the film looks as if everyone was left to their own devices, and some of the performers actually appear to be squirming onscreen.

'IMITATION GAME' Director In Talks For 'PASSENGERS'; Script From 'PROMETHEUS' Writer

Variety reports that Sony is currently in negotiations with Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum to helm their sci-fi flick Passengers. He's best known for the Oscar nominated film which earned him a Best Director nomination, studios will likely be knocking his door with many projects.

Another one of his films is a slick thriller Headhunters which is totally worth watching if you get the chance.

Passengers is based on a spec-script from screenwriter Jon Spahits that Sony bought on the spot.

Set on a spacecraft in the future with thousands of passengers making an interstellar voyage to a distant new planet. One passenger awakens from cryogenic sleep 90 years before anyone else and decides to wake up a female passenger, sparking the beginning of a love story.

Jon is best known for having his original Prometheus script rewritten by Damon Lindelof, I urge you to seek out his original draft and compare it to the film it's actually pretty damn good.

This new project is seeming taking cues from David's creepy spying on Shaw during her hyper-sleep.

He's also landed high profile screenwriting gigs with Marvel Studios penning Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange along with writing a draft of Universal's Mummy reboot.

Yes It's True, This Movie Has No Dick; A Few Thoughts on the New GHOSTBUSTERS

"Ghostbusters, whaddaya want?"

If you've ever watched the FANGIRLS webcast, if you've been a friend of mine, or even just a social media pen pal; you know how much I love Ghostbusters. I'm an 80s baby that thrives on cult classic nostalgic pop culture.  For years fans of the busting franchise have been waiting for a Ghostbusters 3 movie, and eventually fans received the rumored reunion in the 2011 Ghostbusters video game. (which was all things needed, even Peck!)

Even after the successful game release, it's still apparent die hards want more of Ray, Winston, Peter, and Egon in the flesh. More rumors circulated that an actual GB3 would happen. Dan Aykroyd talked about a new generation coming in with possibly a few girls, (which was exciting news!!!) but the original cast would still play a part and maintain the legacy. Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray both answered with opened ended responses thus leaving the door and topic open, but contracts unsigned.

Fast forward and then stop to maybe six-seven months ago and these hints via popular cinephile websites started teasing (disgusting) fans with news of a complete reboot with no ties to the original movie. "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK!? " was my first reaction, but I tried to remain open minded (had some trouble) about the possible homage. And then studios announced the new Ghostbusters movie would be an all female cast as in some sort of way this would please and appease the empowerment movement of comedic women..

.....This was a little frustrating (even as a woman) because I don't think of the Ghostbusters movie as an "all male cast"...it's a goddamn classic with a few comedy gods of the 80s.

And this week they've announced the cast: three SNL alums and the tag along friend that works well in female ensembles.

pffffft.

As a HUGE movie fan, an even bigger Ghostbusters fan, and as someone who gets real tired real quick of actors with schtick, the announcement of this cast crushed me. I can't say that I understand this casting or approve it, but really no one cares what I think, I'm not paying their bills.

But as I do, I have a lot of opinions and concerns regarding the new employees at Ghostbusters headquarters that maybe others do too, and just wanted to put 'em out there.

How THE OFFICE Saved My Life

$

By Elizabeth Weitz

Let me begin by saying that I wasn't always a fan of the American version of The Office.

In fact, for its first three seasons I refused to watch it at all out of loyalty to the British original. I came into it slowly, hating the first few episodes (which felt like copycats), trying to not be charmed by the goofy cuteness of Jim (John Krasinski), the painful insecurity of Pam (Jenna Fischer), the neediness of Michael (Steve Carell) or the blatant kissassery of Dwight (Rainn Wilson) but by episode 4 (The Alliance) I was hooked and hooked hard (against my will) and from that point on, I was what you might call an "Office Freak" (and now, those first few episodes are beloved).

Then, a few years later something happened to make The Office not just a TV show I enjoyed, but a TV show I needed.

In January 2012 I woke up in debilitating pain and unable to walk without screaming. It was a sudden and unexpected event that had no known cause behind it. In fact, the doctors had no idea what was happening. There were X-rays, MRIs, Cortisone shots, countless trips to the hospital for blood work, pain pills, pills for infections, pills, pills, pills...and finally, inserting needles into the nerves of my spine and burning them off (every six months) all in the hopes that whatever was happening could be slowed down.

I'll spare you the more boring details other than I've lived with this for three years now (with the only diagnosis being Fibromyalgia- a condition where your brain is somehow triggered into not being able to process pain correctly and therefore believes your entire body is on fire and someone is trying to put it out by beating the flames down with a sledgehammer) and the only thing that has made it bearable has been The Office.

Martial artist Alain Moussi (Wolves, Pacific Rim) is currently filming the remake to the Jean-Claude Van Damme film Kickboxer and took to Facebook teasing a desire to play Marvel's Iron Fist.

Alain would later clarify on Twitter he'd love the role but isn't in the running, just getting into the comics.

Moussi's no stranger to Marvel productions as he did stunt work on X-Men Days of Future Past. The French speaking Canadian stuntman turned actor was born in Central Africa in Libreville, Gabon and could give the MCU a bit of an international kick it's been lacking.

Does Marvel Studios Have Big Plans For Paul Bettany's VISION?

By Christopher M

We haven't see Paul Bettany's Vision show-up in recent Avengers: Age of Ultron trailers but the actor seemingly already has an idea when we'll be seeing his character next.

Paul Bettany spoke to an Australian news outlet (via Comic Book Movie) giving the impression the studio has given him a better idea of what his future projects could be.
“That’s the really great thing about the Marvel gig for me. I have never known if I have had a job six months out ever in my life. And now I know that they have plans and I can be even more judicious about the stuff that I do outside of that work. I can wait for the right thing and feel really attached to it.”
There is a bit of chatter of where The Vision could be seen next, mainly he could be appearing in both Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.

It hasn't been confirmed but sources are clearly hearing that Marvel wants more of the character.

Having just returned from San Francisco, I can safely say that the city is intact, largely thanks to a brave little boy named Miles Scott aka Batkid.

By thwarting The Riddler and The Penguin and saving not only a lady on the trolley tracks but also SF Giants mascot Lou Seal, Miles was given the Key to the City from Mayor Ed Lee on November 15, 2013.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation made Miles’ dream come true and in turn, a city was transformed into a heroic playground for the leukemia survivor.

Batkid saved the day, took over our social media for the afternoon and everyone from fellow Batmen Affleck, Kilmer and Keaton to President Obama thanked him for his service.

Batkid Begins documents the small town of Tulelake, CA family’s battle with cancer and the redeeming qualities of community based action. What was meant to be perhaps 100 volunteers turned into an entire city playing a small background character in a real life Batman Movie starring our Batkid, a five-year-old Miles Scott.

I remember ‘Batkid’ Day.

We’re three hours ahead so here on the East Coast this was prime twitter time for me. It was unavoidable. Even Facebook’s algorithms couldn’t stop that which was the heart of this thing.

It was all over everywhere, and I shared and retweeted as much as I saw from #SFBATKID on Twitter, reading about this amazing story.

Joss Whedon Criticizes Lack Of Female Superhero Films; Could He Make CAPTAIN MARVEL?

By Christopher M

Feminist filmmaker Joss Whedon has been a pioneer for female genre material ever since creating the breakout character Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Spending most of his career opening doors for actresses/female characters to be taken serious as leads of genre television series and feature films.

Even playing in the sandbox of my female-led franchise with his script for Alien Resurrection writing for the iconic genre character Ellen Ripley.

In an interview with Digital Spy he calls out Hollywood's "stupid people" blocking female-led comic book films. Also, pointing to fact Fox has access to the best female Marvel characters which isn't leaving Marvel Studios with much to work with. He would know since he wrote for the X-Men comics.
"It's a phenomenon in the industry that we call 'stupid people'," Whedon said. "There is genuine, recalcitrant, intractable sexism, and old-fashioned quiet misogyny that goes on.
"You hear 'Oh, [female superheroes] don't work because of these two bad ones that were made eight years ago', there's always an excuse."
"Hunger Games is a different structure and aesthetic to a certain extent, but these narratives where people are bigger than life and they're in these terrible, heightened circumstances, it's all part of the same genre," he said.
"Marvel is in a position of making a statement simply by making [a female-led] movie, which I think would be a good thing to do. "But it has to be a good movie, it has to be a good character, and most of the best characters in Marvel are owned by Fox, let's face it!"
Fox has yet to announce development a female driven superhero film since Elektra bombed.
