THROWBACK THURSDAY: Watch Woody Allen's Long-Lost PBS Short Film 'Men Of Crisis: The Harvey Wallinger Story'

Back in '71 Wood Allen made a short mockumentary film for PBS satirizing the Nixon Administration which was ultimately pulled before being shown due to the belief by PBS officials that they would ultimately lose their government funding (they were probably correct in that assumption as Nixon was not known for taking a joke).

Featuring Allen as the Kissinger-style character Harvey Wallinger and co-starring Diane Keaton and Louise Lasser (as well as a very fine Nixon Impersonator) the short demonstrates why the 70s were, really, the decade of Woody Allen.

Remember when you were in your twenties and you thought you were awesome and that there was no way you were ever going to get "OLD" like your parents because, how could you? You were so hip and cool and everything you liked and did were so beyond what your stupid parents ever did and, I mean, how could you, of all people, ever end up being lame?

Yeah, this animation is a good reminder of that period in your life when you were that big of an asshole.

Ahhh getting older...it's not so bad when you realize how awesome naps are.

Comedy is not something commonly attributed to video games, other than the occasional in-joke or visual, it's a rarity.

However there are games out there that repeatedly have me in stitches of laughter, no matter how much I play them.

So with world famine, terrorism, war, crime and despair bombarding our TVs and newspapers, here's a reminder that even when everything is blowing up, you can still crack a smile.

Produced by Brent Hodge, Carolyn Wells,
Lauren Bercovitch, Morgan Spurlock
Written and Directed by Brent Hodge
Starring Ashleigh Ball, Bryan Mischke, Andrea Libman,
Nicole Oliver, Donald Rhoades, Andy Stein,
Jordan Downs, Kelvin Williams

Ashleigh Ball is a voice over actress and singer for Canadian indie pop band Hey Ocean! who played at my nightclub in Cambridge, MA last year. Another performer to grace the same stage last year was the twenty-one year-old Silva Hound, an Atlanta, GA DJ that spins Brony remixes on a tour with Brony musicians as Musiquestria.

A Brony Tale tells the story of Ashleigh going to her first BronyCon as the voice of Applejack and Rainbow Dash, main characters on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated TV show.

This is the second documentary about the Brony subculture to cross my desk, and the second to make me visit the show again as we see fandom’s most picked on rise above the negativity outside and embrace community inside.

FOG! Exclusive 'X-MEN XXX: A Porn Parody' SFW Clip and DVD Giveaway!

Axel Braun's at it again with another superhero porn parody which appears more faithful to the comics than the studio developed mainstream adaptations.

This time Braun tackles fan favorite comic, the X-Men and as the photos below prove, they certainly have put effort into the costumes.

Here's what Vivid says about the release, "Wolverine, Rogue, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Colossus, Kitty Pryde and Polaris all join forces with Professor X to defeat the villains lead by Magneto in yet another Braun masterpiece bound to become an instant adult parody classic for Vivid SuperXXXHeroes.

The movie features an incredible ensemble of marvelously erotic mutants, awesome costumes, and mainstream-quality visual FX, along of course with Braun’s legendary attention to detail.

“I’m really proud of this one,” says Braun. “When you have so many great characters all in one movie, it’s not easy to construct a parody that doesn’t feel preposterous, but I think that we really managed to craft a solid storyline that is as exciting as it is arousing. Allie Haze is outstanding as Rogue, a character that Bryan Singer notoriously omitted in the otherwise highly entertaining DOFP, and Tommy Gunn is funny as hell as the short, gruff Wolverine, a portrayal totally more faithful to the comic book than the one made famous by Hugh Jackman!”

The all-star cast also includes Skin Diamond as Storm, Andy San Dimas as Phoenix, Chanel Preston as Polaris, Jeannie Marie as Emma Frost, J. Jay as Cyclops, Mike Moz as Professor X, Tom Byron as Magneto and the late Billy Glide in his final role as Colossus.

After the jump check out an exclusive clip and enter to win a copy on DVD!

Produced by Alan Greisman, Mark Damon, Rob Reiner
Written by Mark Andrus
Directed by Rob Reiner
Starring Michael Douglas, Diane Keaton,
Sterling Jerins, Paloma Guzmán,
Frances Sternhagen, Frankie Valli

And So It Goes is a romantic comedy made unabashedly for the baby-boomer generation.

Director Rob Reiner brings us another movie that I know my parents will love to watch.

Michael Douglas (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Wonder Boys) plays Oren Little, a martini drinking, widowed, self absorbed, real estate broker in a Hamptons-like town in Connecticut.

Oren is looking to make that one last big real estate deal so he can retire to Nowhereville, Vermont.

For his neighbors, including the flighty lounge singer, Leah, (Diane Keaton, The Godfather, Something’s Gotta Give) Oren can’t move soon enough.

If We Need It, Why Is It So Expensive?

A few weeks ago, ListCrux asked “when was the last time you Googled something?”

For most of us that answer is likely “just a few seconds ago; that’s how I found your article.”

According to ListCrux’s data, there are more than five billion searches on Google every day.

It goes beyond Google.

For most of us the Internet is as much a part of our daily lives as oxygen. Think about it: most of the things we do now are web based. We use it for keeping in touch, staying informed, entertaining ourselves and sometimes we do all of those things simultaneously as we yell at each other through our MMPORG’s chat channels.

It makes it that much more infuriating, then, that something we all need so much (and make no mistake, if you are reading this site you need the internet—all nerds do) is so expensive.

SCIENCE GEEK: The 6 Craziest Genitals Found In Nature

$

Yesterday, while traveling all over Pennsylvania with my husband searching for used copies of Wii Pikmin games (don't ask), I happened to overhear a couple of gentlemen discussing penis-size when we stopped for coffee. The conversation was boring and predictable (bigger is better....yadda, yadda, yadda) but it got me thinking about other animals' ding dongs and if they too had conversations with members of their gender about their trouser snails (you know, if they had the ability to give a shit about stuff like that).

But, after seeing this particular video by the science web-series AsapTHOUGHT, I don't want to think about penises ever again (and trust me when I say you will never look at a duck in the same way).

Let's just be glad that we are all equipped with a reproductive system that is simple and easy...and has not evolved into the medieval torture device of the bean weevil.

HODOR Has A SoundCloud Page? You Can Rave With Hodor? Count Me In

$

As someone who watches the Game of Thrones on a weekly basis (when it is on) I will casually make use of the word "Fan" but I am in no way what you would call obsessed over the show, so if everyone on the planet, besides myself, already knew that actor Kristian Nairn (who plays Hodor) was a successful DJ, besides being someone who walked around the 7 Kingdoms of Westeros and said his own name, then I apologize.

But if you didn't know that Hodor spun the vinyl then listen up (literally), because Nairn has released his very own SoundCloud page filled with some rave-erific tunes that will make you drink a bunch of mead and dance around with glowsticks.

He is also embarking on a Rave of Thrones tour in Australia beginning August 28th (if you are looking to dive deeper into some GoT obsession) where the dress code is medieval and the brother-sister copulation is madatory (I'm guessing about that last part).

After the break is a couple of Hodor's mix samples which will help tide you over until the next season begins.

LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES: The Company of Wolves (1984)

I know, I know, everyone is tired of the whole Vampire/Werewolf/Zombie flick but in Neil Jordan's 1984 re-telling of the Little Red Riding Hood fable, the werewolves get a dreamy, Gothic treatment that not only hyper-sexualizes them, it also makes the genre worth revisiting (you know, without being partnered with a sparkly vampire).

The film stars Angela Lansbury (Murder She Wrote), Stephen Rea (V for Vendetta) and David Warner (The Omen) and features some pretty awesome set design and special effects that made me fall in love with the idea of being torn to shreds by wolves.

And, just so you don't think I'm merely a werewolf junky, the late Roger Ebert gave The Company of Wolves three out of four stars, saying it was a "disturbing and stylish attempt to collect some of the nightmares that lie beneath the surface of "Little Red Riding Hood." (Roger Ebert).

So there.
