IF ANIMATRONIC MUSICAL SHOWS PERFORMED THIS SONG AT CHUCK E. CHEESE, Maybe I Would Finally Share An Afternoon There With My Nephew

$

I'm not going to lie to you, animatronic musical shows weird me out. Maybe it's the soulless dead eyes boring into me as an overly large mechanical bear sings about a Jamboree that makes my skin crawl, I don't know, but anytime I end up at a kid-friendly establishment that features singing robots, I start looking for an exit out of the place.

Which is probably why I have never gone to a Chuck E. Cheese willingly (I've only been dragged there when family b-day parties have required my prescence) and why my youngest nephew will never have a memory of me eating pizza with him on a Saturday that does not also include me sweating profusely and crying from fear.

However, I might make an exception if the music were more in the vein of the following video.

After-all, a mechanical animal cheerleader miming rap lyrics is a whole other nightmare...and a  wonderful one at that.

Video after the break.

Smallville: Random, Awesome and WTF?! - S2E22: Calling

$

0

Dr. Walden, PhDick, comes back from Coma World with a full on Kryptonian download and the notion that he needs to kill Clark to save the human race.

Side effects from comas don't normally include stuff like that, do they?

The Random:
1. Wait, did Clark actually make a move on Lana and get some? Wow. So, this is the episode of Smallville where Hell freezes over? Who knew?

2. Clark tells Lex he knows that he and Lana are meant to be together. I don't think that sequence of words means what he thinks they do...

3. I think part of Dr. Walden's screen test was seeing how many asinine faces he could make per scene.

Shooting laser beams is also a medically inaccurate side effect of comas...

The Awesome:
1. Lionel shows up to offer his best wishes--or drop some breadcrumbs to turn Helen and Lex against one another. Same thing, really.

2. The symbols in the cave refer to Clark as the Last Son of Krypton, and if you're a comic geek, that's gotta make you smile. The summoning to the ship under the variation of John Williams' Superman: The Movie score also helps.

3. Lex lies to Helen so casually and obtains a vial of Clark's blood to cement his badassery credentials. Of course, Lionel one ups that by ordering the hand of the deceased Dr. Walden removed and delivered to his office. Good times.

"So, listen, Lex. If things fall apart between you and Helen..."

The WTF?!:
1. Chloe feels there's a big rift between her and Clark and can't figure out a way to fix it. Try being less emo and passive aggressive for five minutes. That might help. Just saying.

2. Did Chloe really think Lionel offered everything he did without any strings attached? Did she start dipping into Lana's stupid pills lately?

3. The Kents are always worried about paying the bills on time, so where do they get the money to repair the farm every time it blows up, which, by the way, is like every third Tuesday..?

"So, you weren't helping me out of the kindness of your heart? Boy, did I have
you pegged wrong, Mr. L!"

BRADLEY COOPER To Play LEX LUTHOR?

$

Cosmic Book News is reporting that they've been sent a tip regarding the new Superman movie Man of Steel.

The site says they've been told that after Paradise Lost fell trough because Legendary Pictures thought the budget was too high, Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, The A-Team, Limitless) will now appear in Man of Steel as Lex Luthor in a cameo role.

Of course Cosmic News has no way of confirming the tip, so take this news with a grain of salt.

Back in the spring of 2011 it was rumored that Luthor was a big part of the script, but since then and most obviously from different set pics of the production there have been no signs of Luthor. Director Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Sucker Punch) has also gone on the record stating that he wants his film to take a different direction than the previous films.

In the original Richard Donner Superman films, Gene Hackmen portrayed Luthor and in 2006's reboot/sequel Superman Returns, director Bryan Singer cast Kevin Spacey in the role of Superman's archenemy.

Cooper was last seen on the big screen in the surprise hit Limitless.

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Johnathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Man of Steel will open in theaters on June 14, 2013.

USING REASON TO EXPLAIN THAT 2012 IS NOT THE YEAR THAT THE WORLD ENDS...So You Might Want To Go Ahead And Pay Your Adult Friend Finder Account Bill After-All

I am very excited that we are finally in 2012 because I am anticipating that by the end of the year, life as we know it, will explode in a sea of insanity and chaos which will finally give me ample time to catch up on my Netflix que.

Oh, I don't think that the world is going to end and that lava will come shooting out from the cracks in the sidewalk in front of my home, I am just predicting that the crazies are going to completely freak out and disrupt life in a way that might get me out of work for at least a couple of weeks (Hey, I lived through Y2K...I know what I am talking about).

And personally, I'm looking forward to it.

But, having said that, let's not get on the "End-of-the-World" crazy train just yet. Even though I am excited about some quality alone time holed up in my house with a shotgun to protect my worldly goods from maniacs, I do think that some of us need to remain calm and reasonable so that when it's all over we can rebuild our civilization and re-open a Starbucks so that I can get a Latte.

So watch the following video (which will hopefully keep you centered during a year that will not only bring us the prophesy of the End Times but also a Presidential election) and learn something important.

I have a feeling we are going to need some serious reason to get us through the year.

ROAD RAGE: The Animation

Car horn=asshole...you must know that this equation is true.

Okay sure, you're stuck in traffic and you know it's because no one in the state of (wherever you happen to live) understands the concept of merging and so you are forced to deal with stop-n-go traffic the likes of which are unacceptable. But honking your horn to alert the other drivers (who are stuck with you, you know) to move is just a dickish thing to do.

And accomplishes nothing I might add.

Besides, what would happen if your honking resulted in say a series of events that were so incredible that you would never reach your destination?

You might want to think about the consequences of your honking after watching the following animation by Nick Khoo.

It could save your life.

Who's getting cast today? We got two new additions to Star Trek and the lead in the remake of The Evil Dead.

Brit actors Noel Clarke and Benedict Cumberbatch are coming to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel. and Lily Collins is in the final negotiations to star in the remake of The Evil Dead.

Variety reports that Noel Clarke's role in the upcoming Star Trek film is very under wraps. All that is known is that "he will play a family man with a wife and young daughter." Clarke is known for having a recurring role as Mickey Smith in Doctor Who. He joins Alice Eve and Peter Weller as new actors coming to the relaunched franchise.

In addition to Clark coming to the Star Trek sequel, Deadline reports that Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in a lead role in the film. There is no word on what type of role he will play. Could he be the villain we're all waiting to know?

Bloody Disgusting reports that Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest, Mirror Mirror) is in final negotiations to play Mia. Earlier it was reported that it looked like the role might be played by Jurnee Smollet or Gillian Jacobs, they clearly didn't get the part. The remake of the Evil Dead is a completely new story that only really shares it's title with the original. Fede Alvarez is set to direct the redo with a script from Diablo Cody.
